Stress & Coping

I can help with stress and difficulties in coping with life’s pressures – whether they come from work, relationships, daily demands, or the expectations you place on yourself.

Understanding Stress & Coping

Stress is a natural part of life, helping us stay alert, focused, and motivated when facing challenges. But when it becomes excessive or persistent, it can start to overwhelm you, leaving you tense, on edge, or unable to switch off.

When we feel stressed, the body’s ‘fight, flight, or freeze’ response is activated. Heart rate rises, breathing changes, muscles tense, and attention narrows – all designed to help us respond to immediate threats. While useful in short bursts, if this response is triggered frequently or remains active for long periods, you may find yourself feeling exhausted, anxious, and struggling to cope with daily life.

Therapy for Stress & Coping

Because stress affects everyone differently, therapy is shaped around your unique experiences, needs, and goals. I offer a supportive, compassionate space where you can explore what is causing your stress and begin to approach life’s challenges with greater calm and confidence.

Together, we will look at the sources of your stress and how they affect you – identifying patterns, triggers, and ways of thinking or behaving that keep the cycle going. From there, we will develop coping strategies and practical skills to help you manage stress more effectively, both in the moment and over time.

Through this process, you will build greater self-awareness, regain a sense of balance and control, and strengthen your resilience. Gradually, you can feel more grounded and at ease – equipped with the confidence and skills to handle life’s pressures and create a more harmonious, fulfilling life.
