Schema Therapy

Schema Therapy is based on the understanding that early experiences can shape deeply held patterns of thinking, feeling, and relating to others. These patterns, known as schemas, often develop when core emotional needs are not fully met and can continue to influence how you see yourself, others, and the world.

Schemas tend to operate outside of awareness, yet they can strongly affect emotional reactions, relationships, and coping strategies. You may find yourself responding in familiar ways that feel hard to change, even when they no longer serve you.

The therapy supports you in becoming aware of these long-standing patterns and understanding where they came from. Through emotional, cognitive, and relational work, it helps you explore unmet needs, develop healthier ways of meeting them, and relate to yourself with greater compassion and flexibility.

This approach is especially helpful for long-standing emotional and relational difficulties, or when other therapies have felt limited. By working at a deeper level, Schema Therapy supports lasting change, helping you feel more secure, connected, and able to move through life with greater confidence and emotional balance.
